Graduated with two Bachelor of the Arts degrees (one in Psychology) from the University of Washington. Received a Master of the Arts in Psychology (with a dual concentration in Child's, Couple, Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling) in 2006 from Antioch University Seattle. Over ten years of experience working in the field of psychology. Over five years experience working with low-income families and homeless. A licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Washington State and, in Brazil, a registered Psychologist by the Conselho Regional de Psicologia do Rio de Janeiro. He is a certified Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro Psychologist and a graduate level Especialista in Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling. A former assistant instructor at the University of Washington and a Clinical Member in good standing of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. The 2011 recipient of Antioch University Seattle's "Distinguished Alumnus" award. President of the Brasileira Crianças Caridade, a Brazilian non-profit based in Rio de Janeiro with the same mission statement and goals as the Brazilian Children's Charity. Understands the intricate culture of favela life through personal experience having lived over a month in the favelas of Brazil. Extensive multicultural experience (interaction with other cultures, races and nationalities) through traveling the world and living in other countries (Germany/five years, Spain/two years, Central America/six months, and Brazil/five years.) Resides with Brazilian wife and daughter in Rio de Janeiro where he has a private practice in psychology. Speaks Portuguese, German and English fluently.

| | Responsibilities
Board meetings, program services (meeting with Brazilian street youth) and developing partner relationships with other organizations, churches and Universities. In charge of coordinating efforts with police, the mayor's office and government officials. Supervises, teaches and mentors interns. Responsible for presenting the Board with appropriate information (i.e. resumes, University transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc.) of students applying for the internships. The President, when in Brazil, supervises and mentors (one hour/week per student) at least two students/year for the B.C.C. Responsible for paying all debts, meeting with U.S. and Brazilian lawyers and accountants, preparing meeting minutes when the secretary is not present, and designing the website. Responsible for attending to books and delivering to treasurer and accountant to inspect. Procured the accountant, lawyer and public advertising for the B.C.C. Personally responsible for, and is the main resource behind, fundraiding in the U.S.

Graduated in 1997 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in English. In 2009, received a Master of the Arts in Child, Couple and Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle and is a marriage and family therapist in private practice. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Washington State who volunteered at the D.E.S.C. (Downtown Emergency Service Center, located in Seattle) for 2 years where she gained vast experience working with the mentally ill and chemically dependent homeless population. Co-authored a research paper about the causes of homelessness for women in the United States, which was presented in 2008 at the International Family Therapy Association (IFTA) conference in Porto, Portugal. Worked as a counseling intern at Renton Area Youth and Family (RAYS) and provided counseling and case management services to economically disadvantaged children, adolescents and their families in both a school and agency setting. Through Treehouse, a Seattle-based non-profit dedicated to assisting foster youth, she provided mentorship to an adolescent female as part of the organization's Coaching-to-College program. These experiences have provided a comprehensive understanding into the cycle and impact that poverty has on the psychological well being of youth and their families. In 2008, Carey traveled to Brazil and witnessed the need for the B.C.C. firsthand while visiting Rio de Janeiro.

Responsibilities
To record minutes at board meetings to be held via internet, cell phone or in person - minimum once/year to (maximum) once/month. Assists with business model and responsible for researching new strategies for business model. Assisting with the design of the website. Fundraising for organization. Filing the solicitation for donation forms (both statewide and national,) submitting list of annual Board of Directors to the I.R.S., meeting with lawyers, and researching how to improve the B.C.C.'s non-profit score.

Jurisprudence Doctorate, Seattle University School of Law, 1996, emphasis on business law; B.A. in Psychology with minor in Philosophy (thesis recommended for publication,) Whitman College, 1992. As Attorney & Counselor at Law, Matthew has advocated for the last 14 years on behalf of clients in need of legal assistance/counseling, focusing on family law (divorce, paternity, child support, adoption with Child Indian Welfare Act, etc.) He lives in West Seattle with his wife, who is a prominent criminal defense attorney, and their three children, sons ages 9, 8, and daughter, 6. Matthew’s volunteer work spans two decades: Board of Directors, Fauntleroy YMCA (chaired Adult & Seniors Committee & fundraised with Partners with Youth Campaign;) President of Sight Committee, West Seattle Lion's Club (financial assistance and matching for low-income applicants with eyeglass doctors;) Lieutenant Governor, Student Division of American Bar Association for Blue Sky Region (planned programs, activities & functions for student representatives;) Puget Sound Legal Foundation Pro Bono Committee (matched volunteer attorneys with low-income legal clients;) Juvenile Diversion Program member (serving with attorneys and social workers advising juvenile offenders on alternatives to court-imposed sentencing;) Student Mentoring and Reading Tutors (S.M.A.R.T.) volunteer (tutoring primary-level students in Tacoma's 'Hilltop' neighborhood;) Alternative High-School Tutor (help with math & writing troubled high-school students.) Matthew’s travels include witnessing Aids-ravaged poverty in a month-long village stay in Cameroon, West Africa - families often lack electricity and running water and he participated in the completion of a Peace Corp schoolhouse. Matthew has extensively studied the psychology, law, and economics of entity formation, including non-profits and cooperatives, as well as the economics of giving, altruism, and reciprocity.

1996, received a Degree in Architecture and Design from the State Academy of Fine Arts, Stuttgart, Germany. 1998, received Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture from the Architectural Association in London, England. Co-Founder (2000) and current Director, Ortega, Shah, Steinmann, & Associates Pvt. Ltd. (OS2) architects. OS2 has offices in India and Germany and has completed projects in U.S.A., Spain, India, Germany and Finland. Bertram has worked with Rotary International to create housing in Bal Asha Gar (four hours from Mumbai, India,) by contributing (pro bono) the planning, coordination and site management for the project. He was involved with creating housing for ex-prostitutes in Mumbai and designing and constructing approximately 1,000 water towers across India. Head of Office, Steinmann Architects Family, founded in 1969 and based in Merzhausen, Germany. Advising (non-political) Member of the Technical Building Submission Board for the District Hexental, Freiburg, Germany. Understands European business models well. Speaks English and German fluently and has extensive multicultural experience having lived in India, England and the U.S.A. Currently resides with daughter in Merzhausen, Germany.

Graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology/Social Welfare, went on to receive a Master's degree from the University of Washington School of Social Work in 1980, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Child Mental Health Specialist, and a Ethnic Minority Mental Health Specialist. With over 30 years of Social Work experience working in various venues with the low-income, the disenfranchised and people of color, she has been the Executive Director of Southeast Youth and Family Services (SEYFS) since July 1993. She has experience working with budgets of various sizes, and with finding effective ways of using limited resources. Other organizational affiliations include the Minority Executive Directors Coalition, Executive Alliance, Seattle Human Services Coalition, King County Youth and Family Services Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Alumni Association, University of Washington Alumni Association, Black Dollar Days Task Force, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Black Historical Society of Washington, and Seattle Street Connections Advisory Committee. She recognizes the need for the B.C.C., specifically the need to help vulnerable children by providing resources and counseling to avoid the effects of homelessness, violence, substance abuse, sexual abuse, and exploitation.

Graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of the Arts degree (majoring in law) from the Direito Faculdade Nacional de Direito (UFRJ) in Rio de Janeiro. Received a Master's degree in Environmental Law (MBE) from the Universidade Federal de Rio de Janeiro in 2002. Carlos is the the Executive Director of the Brasileira Crianças Caridade, a Brazilian non-profit based in Rio de Janeiro with the same mission statement and goals as the Brazilian Children's Charity. Partner at Sereno & Montechiari Lawyers where he is responsible for the supervision of associates attending to international and domestic contracts and for marketing the firm´s name. Chancellor (Of Chancery) and Counsel to the Consulate General of Uruguay in Rio de Janeiro where he is reponsible for drafting texts of international agreements between countries and with issues related to deportation, expulsion or extradition of Uruguayan nationals. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, he is a Carioca who is aware of the need for the B.C.C. He provides pro bono legal assistance to indivuals that could otherwise not afford it. An environmentalist, lives with his daughter and speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English fluently.
