Welcome to the Brazilian Children's Charity.  We have been providing free psychological services to individuals in the Rio de Janeiro area since 2008.

The B.C.C. assists with the Brazilian social problem of poverty.  Many of the people living on the streets and in poverty suffer from drug addictions, depression, sexually transmitted diseases, and other psychological ailments.  Many times, they are willing, but are unable to receive psychological assistance.  These ailments can lead the individual to suicide and to crimes against both foreigners and Brazilians.  The B.C.C. provides continued assistance in dealing with these issues.

The introduction of Brazilian psychology graduate students to C.C.F.T and M.H.C. (please click here for definitions) techniques and their work with the target populations creates Brazilians who may continue (after graduation) to assist the poor and homeless of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  Much like the saying, "give a person a fish, feed 'em for a day; teach a person to fish, feed 'em for life" the B.C.C. assists in creating a healthier and safer Brazil through a capacity building model.  Eventually, the B.C.C. will expand to other cities in Brazil and open up new training offices.
